This high-end property developer who works with both residential and commercial projects first instructed us to lay a large new mineral flat roof on a commercial property that they are renovating.
After seeing the quality of our work, they instructed us to lay various mineral flat roofs for a multi million pound residential property. However, after being let down by their previous roofing company and finding out that we were able to carry out lead work to a high standard, they awarded us the work of installing new lead trays that surrounded the whole of the property.
We were contacted by this customer to come provide an estimate as to how much it would cost replace the lath and plaster and add new batten and felt to this lean to slate roof on this beautiful country farmhouse. This would involve replacing an old Velux as well as boarding up the interior of the roof with OSB chipboard to allow it to be re-plaster. Once the customer saw our competitive pricing, they were happy for us to go ahead and start removing the old lath and plaster.
After we added some new timbers to the roof to reconfigure and restore its structural integrity, we set to work cleaning up the old slates and putting them back on the roof to help tie in with the rest of the building and surround out houses.
After being instructed by the customer that they would like a complete re-roof including all old slates, ridge and hip tiles off and new ones on, new breather felt and new batten, we happily put aside 2 weeks to get this job efficiently and professionally. However, with the weather on our side and our most experience team working on this, it took only 5 days to get this whole re-roof complete.
The customer was incredibly happy with the result and one of the neighbours was so impressed with our work that they instructed us to do the same to theirs.
The large-scale commercial project spanned across two blocks of flats which had all 28 bay windows replaced with new uPVC windows. Because of the change in dimensions of the windows, they also required a new roof on each bay which involved stripping the old flat roofs and installing a new OSB chipboard roof .
As we are qualified to successfully install GRP (Glass Resin Paint) roofs, we decided that this would be the best option to provide both longevity and a professional finish.
This stunning 5-bedroom manor was beautiful however the roof needed some attention as there was a major leak which was flooding straight into the owner’s bedroom. After some investigative work, we isolated the leak to the chimney and surrounding area. To deal with this issue, we added new lead to areas which required it, repointed the chimney as well as spraying the chimney with a new heavy-duty brick water repellent.
The owners were so happy to have the leak fixed that they decided to get us to replace all of the fascia and guttering that surrounded the whole property.
